It is expected that the Kenya National Police recruitment exercise shall take place before the 2012 General Elections. This year (2011), another 7000 recruits joined the three Police Services and are currently undergoing training in their respective colleges.

The current Government is employing Police Officers in thousands so as to ensure that there are enough security personnel to maintain peace & security during next years General Elections. This is meant at avoiding a repeat of the violence that rocked Kenya after the 2007 General Elections.
